From Novacolor Training in Italy to Workshops in British Columbia
Italian training, applied locally
Decorative finishes are learned through the hand as much as through a technical sheet. The House of Plaster and Polished Stucco team has trained with Novacolor in Italy, connecting product knowledge with the preparation, timing, pressure, tool control, and judgement that determine a finished surface.
That experience now informs our decorative plaster and microcement training in British Columbia. The goal is not to teach a single sample-board recipe. It is to help applicators understand why a system works, recognize the conditions that change the application, and build repeatable habits they can carry onto real Canadian job sites.
What professional training should connect
A useful workshop joins theory to practice. Depending on the published session, the learning path may include:
- identifying mineral, metallic, oxidation, concrete-effect, and seamless system families;
- evaluating substrates before opening material;
- selecting compatible preparation and protection products;
- controlling a trowel, spatula, brush, or roller for the intended movement;
- understanding coat sequence, drying, sanding, and finishing decisions;
- reading current technical data rather than relying on a remembered recipe;
- diagnosing common application problems before they become expensive repairs.
The products matter, but sequence and judgement matter just as much. A beautiful sample that cannot be specified or repeated on site is not enough.
From the Novacolor context to the Canadian job site
Training in Italy provides direct context for the design language and system thinking behind Novacolor finishes. Bringing that knowledge to British Columbia also means adapting the conversation to local substrates, construction schedules, climate-controlled interiors, delivery planning, and the needs of Canadian applicators, designers, builders, and homeowners.
Our team has also presented Novacolor decorative finish products at IDS Vancouver. Meeting the Vancouver design community reinforced the value of physical samples and informed technical support: material surfaces need to be seen, touched, and discussed in relation to the complete project.

House of Plaster publishes a workshop only when its date, location, format, capacity, and price are ready to be shown. A training request is not an automatic booking or payment. Our team reviews the request, confirms availability and requirements, and provides the final details directly.
